There are several screenshot video web tools out there, but for today’s tech snack I want to talk about an easy to use screenshot video tool called screen-cast-o-matic. Screen-cast-o-matic is one of my favorite web 2.0 tools to use.
Screen-cast-o-matic can be found at the following url:
http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/
So how does it work?
With screencast-o-matic, you have two options: You could run the recording software directly from the website without installing any software on your computer, or you could install the free software on your computer. Personally, I prefer to download the software. You only have to download the software once and then you have it available anytime you want. I prefer this method because I don’t have to rely on Internet connectivity to use the software. Also, the online version of screencast-o-matic runs on java, which sometimes causes issues with company firewalls, so that’s something to be aware of. Whichever version you use, however, screencast-o-matic works the same way. You simply click on record and then you are given a frame around your screen. You can then click and drag your frame on the screen to only record the portion of the screen you want shown. Only content within the frame will be recorded in the video.
It is up to you, which version of screen-cast-o-matic you want to use. To compare the features of the free version and the paid version, look at the table below.
Delicious, simply delicious! Yes, dear waiter, I would like seconds of this delectable snack!
