What is it and how do we use it?
Audiopal is a free online tool that allows you to record your voice, and then it creates an audio player that can be embedded on your website. Using Audiopal, you can record your audio by phone or microphone, you can upload an audio file, or you can use AudioPal's text to speech function. After you create your recording, you can preview your audio, enter your email address and you will get an embed code to place the audio on your website. With audiopal, students do not need to have an account and there is no software to install.
***Full Disclosure: Audio pal uses flash. If you are using an ipad or similar tablet you will need to install puffin browser to see the embedded player. You can download puffin from the following url:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/puffin-browser-free-fast-flash/id472937654?mt=8
See below to see an example of an embedded player that is reading the below typed statement:
"Tech Snacks are short commentaries that focus and emphasize the pedagogical use of one particular tech tool or software at a time. As teachers, we know that there is so much information to process when it comes to technology and technology integration. Sometimes it's hard to take that first step to implement any of these tools. So Tech Snacks are short & focused so that teachers can learn about one new tool that they could use in their classroom. I will provide commentary on the tools weekly. So come back often!"
