So without further delay, let's discuss today's tech snack. Today's snack can be found at the following url: https://sharalike.com
What is it and how can I use it in my classroom?
Sharalike is an online slide show video creator. Using this tool, students can import any number of photos, select a slide show layout and then create a professional looking slide show easily. It can be run on a desktop/laptop via a web brower( Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc), and is also available as a free app on Google play and the Apple app store for tablets and smartphones.
Once a student has created an account, students can upload their pictures by clicking on the plus icon. They can then arrange their pictures in the order they want them to appear in the show by dragging the pictures into the correct place.
The use of photographs/pictures are a powerful way to engage an audience, so it would be a great tool to use as a visual aid for oral reports. Students could use sharalike to create presentations to demonstrate what they have learned in any subject( characteristics of characters, historic battlefields of wars, pictures of groups of multiples of ten, etc). It is also a great way to showcase school events, or celebrate accomplishments.
